Halima Said is a CDA-licensed counsellor and AASECT-trained sex therapist based in Dubai, with over seven years of experience supporting individuals and couples. She holds a Master of Science in Multicultural Clinical Counseling from San Diego State University, California, and specializes in couples therapy, sex therapy, eating disorders, and trauma.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is holistic and integrative, grounded in the understanding that mental health is shaped by the dynamic interplay between mind, body, relationships, and culture. I believe that meaningful healing begins with self-understanding and is deepened through authentic, supportive connections. I am particularly passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves, develop emotional awareness, and build more fulfilling relationships — with both themselves and others.
Couples Therapy & Sex Therapy in Dubai
As a couples therapist, I have worked extensively with multiracial and multireligious couples, supporting partners in navigating cultural differences, communication patterns, betrayal, and evolving relational dynamics. My AASECT training in sex therapy allows me to support clients with intimacy and relational concerns, helping them explore challenges related to desire, connection, and both physical and emotional intimacy within romantic relationships. This work is especially meaningful in Dubai, where I support couples from a wide range of cultural and religious backgrounds.
Eating Disorder Treatment
I bring four years of specialized experience working with eating disorders, including two years at a dedicated treatment center in San Diego, California. I have worked across Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and outpatient levels of care, supporting clients with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and body dysmorphia. This work has deepened my understanding of the emotional, relational, and psychological complexities underlying disordered eating and body image concerns.
Trauma, Anxiety & Depression
My clinical work has supported clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, relational challenges, and life transitions. I draw on evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, EFT, Gottman Method, and Brainspotting (Phase 1 Trained) to tailor treatment to each client's needs.
Culturally Responsive Therapy
Working with clients from diverse cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds has been central to my practice in Dubai. I am deeply committed to culturally responsive therapy, recognizing how identity, lived experience, and systemic factors shape one's inner world. I strive to create a space that is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in curiosity, where clients feel seen, heard, and supported.
