About Managing COVID-19 & Related Anxiety
This is a time of great uncertainty for people all over the world and as a result, we are all taking steps to protect our community from the spread of the COVID-19 virus. At the same time, many of us are experiencing fear, worry, anxiety, panic and social isolation. We want you to know, that today and always, Thrive is here for you and at the same time doing everything we can to protect your physical and psychological wellbeing.
Our thoughts and hearts are with everyone who has been affected by this situation. Further, our appreciation and gratitude is with all of those who are working tirelessly to protect and care for people in their communities.
It is important for us to all work together to do what we can. We take our responsibility very seriously. As a result we have preemptively decided to take certain measures.
Screening
We are screening clients for COVID-19 risk factors, while protecting their privacy. From today, we are asking anybody who confirms or books a session with us to let us know if they are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms, and whether they have travelled to any of the countries at the heart of the pandemic over the past 28 days. Please rest assured that we will always support our existing and prospective clients regardless of their responses to these questions. That being said, online therapy may be required. We will resume with in-person therapy after the 14 day quarantine period passes and necessary steps have been taken.
Please note that we are still fully operational and receiving clients in our offices. We will provide regular updates to you about this as the situation develops.
Online Services
We are now offering secure, HIPAA-compliant online therapy options for those who cannot or would prefer not to visit public places. We have spent the past week vetting many different options for the most secure and user friendly platforms to ensure the continuity and accessibility of our services no matter what happens. Our therapists will be working with you from our offices - so the only difference between in-person and online therapy is where you are located. At this time, we are offering it as an option to existing and new clients. We are continually monitoring the situation, and it is possible that this will become necessary for all clients in the coming days or weeks. For some clients, such as those who receive art and play therapy, face-to-face therapy is essential, and so we are working to ensure that we will have safe offerings for these clients should we need to temporarily transition to online health services across the UAE.
Hygiene
We have taken steps to ensure that the Thrive offices are as hygienic as possible. We use concentrated cleaning supplies to wipe down all common surfaces on an hourly basis and after each client session. We have concentrated handwashing products, as well as WHO handwashing directives displayed in both the bathrooms and waiting areas.
Cancellation Fees
Your health is the most important thing and for that reason we are waiving the cancellation fees to ensure that you do not feel pressured to attend a session when you are unwell. That being said, we appreciate that you continue to provide us with as much notice as possible.
