Services offered:

Family therapy

I am a CDA-licensed psychologist with ten years in private practice, academic research, and social governance in Canada. I provide services in English, Arabic, and French to children, youth, adults and families, and have a strong interest in individual empowerment and community capacity building.

... Where I gained my education and training

Comfortable in the academic and research setting, I was fortunate to gain a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from McGill University in Montréal, Canada. I also conducted research, presenting over the years at several conferences in Toronto, Washington, and New York.

… Where my work experience has taken me

With a strong belief that practice is just as important as education, my experience ranges from counseling in educational settings (such as schools and universities) in Canada,  to providing psychotherapy in private and public health care settings (such as hospitals, clinics, and wellness centers) in Canada, Egypt, and Trinidad and Tobago.

I am enthusiastic about community psychology and social governance, having served the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Québec in Canada for seven years, working directly with families to promote child development as well as working on child welfare policy and training.

… When working with children and adolescents

My areas of strength include emotional and behavioural challenges, developmental and psychometric assessments, as well as working with child trauma or psychological maltreatment.

… When working with parents and families

My areas of strength include building on parenting capacities, strengthening the child-parent attachment bond, and creating cohesion and adaptability within family dynamics.

… When working with adults and couples

My areas of competence include relationship challenges, experiences of depression and anxiety, stress and anger-management, loss and bereavement, and the experience of past trauma.

… Who I’m registered and licensed with

Ethical practice and professional licensure is at the core of the therapeutic services we provide. I am licensed by the Order of Counselors of Québec and the Order of Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists of Québec. As well, I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the Middle East Psychological Association.

… Why I practice therapy and counseling

Working with children, youth, parents, and families is a passion of mine. At the heart of my work is a therapeutic approach that is strengths-based, empowerment-driven and emotion-centered.
